UTS recently commenced a collaborative research project with IKEA and formed the IKEA x UTS Future Living Lab. As part of this collaboration we are offering a global studio titled IKEA x UTS Global Studio, during which we will visit IKEA HQ in Älmhult, Sweden as well as the SPACE10 Future Living Lab in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Intent and preliminary itinerary (TBC)
The intent of the global studio is to offer students an internship-like experience, during which you will be taking part in workshops and working on self-initiated projects driven by design-led research.
Our journey will start in Copenhagen where you will spend time conducting research at SPACE10 (https://www.space10.io), visit the Danish Design School and the Danish Museum of Art and Design. From Copenhagen we will travel to IKEA Global HQ in Älmhult, where you will work on your design projects in consultation with IKEA designers. Our journey will conclude in Stockholm, Sweden, itinerary yet to be confirmed.
