In the framework of the newly formed IKEA x UTS Future Living Lab, we are offering an IKEA sponsored elective on objects as future systems for living to both Product Design and Interior Architecture students.

IntentThe elective will challenge students to speculate on future living through researching and implementing new design approaches to address unique Australian needs of domestic life, linked to how the objects we engage with can form systems for living.Students will be paired across the two disciplines for the duration of the session to develop individual projects that fuse object and spatial design to create artefacts that will be included in an exhibition and publication. This elective is suitable for highly motivated students who are interested in collaborating in an interdisciplinary manner with an industry partner to produce high-level work for exhibition.
